What Crossed fingers means and when to use it
Hoping β "fingers crossed it works out"
- Wishing someone luck before an interview or a result
- Admitting you are hoping for something you cannot control
Watch out In English it also implies you might be saying something untrue β historically, crossing fingers behind your back cancels a promise. Context keeps these apart.
